The entire MSHS student body traveled to the Greene County Fairgrounds to visit the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall on Friday, September 29, 2017. Of the over 58,000 names on the wall, seven are the names of young men from Greene County who, along with the others, gave their lives in service to their country while serving in Vietnam. Prior to the trip, our students had a presentation that highlighted the history of The Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C. The Traveling Wall is a 3/5 scale replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC. It stands six feet tall at the center and covers almost 300 feet from end to end. Once arriving at the traveling exhibit, our students received a brief introduction to the Wall from the volunteers there. The students spent nearly two hours examining the names, meeting several veterans, and paying their respects to the fallen.
