Two of West Greene's top Career & Technology Center Culinary Arts students made it big recently! Well, maybe they just got to be a big part of something exciting!
The Ice Plant Restaurant, owned by Ms. Garlick's sister Lisa, was invited to be featured on a episode of America's Best Restaurants. It was only fitting to include some of the CTC's best culinary students! Mr. Wagner, Culinary Instructor, Dylan Wilson and Harlan Bloom stepped in and worked alongside The Ice Plant staff and performed as if they had worked there for years.
When the episode airs, watch as Dylan takes the role as the head cook and prepares one of the restaurants most popular meals. Harlan can be found leading the salad prep area.
Both Dylan and Harlan did an amazing job and we are so proud of them!
Friday, West Greene FFA had their first breakfast of the year! Nothing better than having 40 come to school EARLY to have breakfast with their friends.
Computer Technology 8 students in Mrs. Perkins class created interactive putting greens using BirdBrain Hummingbird kits. Students had to create a theme, build a structure and program servos, LED lights and sensors to spin, light up and play music when a hole was completed.
The 2022-2023 Pioneer Yearbooks have arrived! Graduates can pick up their pre-ordered yearbooks by stopping in the JSHS Main Office between 12:15 and 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. A very limited number of extra copies are available for purchase at $40 each.
Elementary (K-6) Open House is Wednesday, October 4th from 6:00-8:00 PM. We look forward to seeing many of you in attendance.
Students in Ms. Shultz's room celebrated Johnny Appleseed's birthday by learning about John Chapman and making pot hats. They also participated in apple stamping, had an apple taste test, and made homemade applesauce.
It was a fun (and tasty) Tuesday! 🍎🍏
Good afternoon. Today, Tuesday, September 26th, Bus 2 will leave campus for dismissal at approx. 2:25 p.m. due to a temporary shortage of bus drivers. The district is working in tandem with the bus garage to determine a more effective solution to this ongoing issue.
The third grade students are learning about the value of culture and traditions in our communities and society. They read a story called "The Dream Catcher" and then had the opportunity to make one on their own.
It seems there was a mistake and the post about elementary instrument rental night didn't make it to social media. If you didn't know about it or were unable to attend, and your child (5th or 6th grade) is interested in participating in the elementary band, please have them see Mr. Bruno and he will give them a form that can be filled out. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or send him and email.
